The Power Of One Small Act Of Kindness
Weeks ago, my 3-year-old granddaughter and I had our first hiking adventure on the Guild Trail on Lookout Mountain. She brought lots of hiking gear that she had “borrowed” from her older brother for this adventure.

After our picnic lunch, we headed back to the car. All was good as we drove down the mountain until she realized that she had left her brother’s “bug catcher” on the trail. She was so distraught that I went back to search the trail at dusk to no avail.
You would have thought the sky was falling from the perspective of a 3-year-old who had lost what was not hers.
Yesterday, approaching the same trailhead, two objects on top of a post there caught my eye. As the bright green, little plastic handles came into focus, I realized that an anonymous soul had stopped and picked up this adored $2 object and thoughtfully had taken it to the trail entrance. There, this “angel” had posted it in a highly visible spot atop the post.
Thank you, unknown person. You remind us all how a tiny act of kindness can help improve the way our world goes round.
